Shooting incident leads to discovery of murder plot

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas—On June 21, 2017, the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office received a report of trespassers on private property in the 15000 block of Valley View in Forney. Forney police officers and KCSO deputies arrived to find the victim holding the suspect at gunpoint.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Rainy Rigdon, a Junior band student at Forney High School, was an awardwinning participant in the 2017 Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music’s series of band camps for middle and senior high school instrumentalists and drum majors.

TxDOT HOLDS PUBLIC MEETING FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO U. S. 175

KAUFMAN—The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will hold a public meeting to gather public comments on the proposed roadway improvements to US 175 from Farm-to-Market (FM) 148 to County Road (CR) 4104 in Crandall. The meeting will be from 6-8 p.m.

Forney Education Foundation inducts first-ever Legacy Member

FORNEY, Texas— The Forney Education Foundation recently inducted its first ever Legacy Member into the non-profit organization. Keith Bell was inducted as a Legacy Member during a ceremony held at the foundation’s monthly board meeting on Monday, June 19, 2017.
