Council terminates Markout Water maintenance contract on split vote

During the open meeting of Tuesday night’s City Council meeting, the Council and the Mayor recognized Cyndi and Mike Thomas of 4-T’s Bar-B-Q and elected a new Mayor Pro Tem. Mayor Rick Wilson asked for a motion concerning the appointment of a Mayor Pro Tem.

Two killed in Forney accidents Saturday, Monday

A UPS driver was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver after he got out of his truck on U. S. 80 last weekend, and on Monday night, a suspected reckless driver struck and killed a motorcyclist on U. S. 80. Both collisions occurred on westbound U. S. 80 prior to the FM 548 exit.

Once opposing, two coaches now united—in marriage

Sunday, May 28 turned Memorial Day weekend into a truly memorable weekend for Forney High School’s softball coach and his assistant. Softball coach Pat Eidel and assistant softball coach Michelle Parker were united in marriage Sunday in a ceremony performed in Gym B inside the FHS athletic center.

FPD INVESTIGATING FATAL HIT-AND-RUN

Forney police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred Saturday at the intersectiion of U. S. Highway 80 and FM 548. According to a news story posteed on InForney.

FHS confers senior honors

On Monday evening, members of Forney High School’s graduating lass of 2017 received year-end recognitions for their academic and other accomplishments during the 2016-2017 school year. The awards program took place in the FHS Performing Arts Center beginning at 7:00 p. m.

FHS Student Council ends successful 2016-2017 year

Last week the FHS Student Council held their first End-of-Year Banquet where they celebrated the year, new officers took their oaths, and they said goodbye to their senior members.
