Forney Barbell Club Competes at National Championships

At the end of June, some of Forney’s young athletes took to the national stage at the 2021 USA Weightlifting Youth National Championships. This event held in Detroit, Michigan was the culmination of a year’s worth of hard work by these young men and women.

Celebrating Half a Century

The majority of her life has been spent proudly donning the famous orange and white of Whataburger, and she has no plans to change that now. Whataburger of Mesquite, Inc.’s Employee No. 6, Ms. Connie Claxton, is celebrating 50 years with the company on July 22, 2020.

FHS, NFHS COACHES HOLD ANNUAL 2-DAY KICKOFF TRAINING

Coaches from Forney ISD’s high school and middle school campuses gathered in the board room of the FISD administration building Monday morning for the first half of the annual two-day training they undergo before the beginning of each school year. (Complete story on page 7 of our July 13 issue.)

FHS STUDENT WINS AWARD AT SFA BAND CAMP

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Rainy Rigdon, a Junior band student at Forney High School, was an award-winning participant in the 2017 Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music’s  series of band camps for middle and senior high school instrumentalists and drum majors.
