FORNEY EDUCATION FOUNDATION MEETING

The Forney Education Foundation will mewet Monday evening, June 19, fr their regular June meeting.   The meeting will begin at 6:30 p. m. in the board room of the FISD Aministration Building, 600 S. Bois d’Arc.   The Foundation wil not hold a meeting in July.  Meetings will resume in August.

SPECIAL MEETING

The Forney IsD Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting Monday, June 26 at 6:30 p.. m. in the board room of the FISD Administration Building, 600 S Bois d’Arc.   There will be a public hearing to discuss the proposed budget for the 2017-2018 fiscal year, which begins July 1, 2017.

CITY COUNCIL TO MEET TUESDAY NIGHT

 he City Council will meet Tuesday, June 20 at 6:30 p. m. in the City Council chamber at City Hall.

Careflite Surcharges

CUSTOMERS CAN OPT OUT OF $1 SURCHARGE FOR CAREFLITE   At least two water utilities have been charging their customers a $1.00 surcharge for CareFlight service over the past several months. One is the City of Forney. Another is Markout Water District.

FIRE DEPT. TO LEAD DONATION EFFORT FOR TORNADO VICTIMS

Fire Department to Lead Donation Effort for Tornado Victims The Forney Fire Department will immediately begin accepting donations at the Central Fire Station, 104 E. Aimee St., for the victims of this past weekend’s tornadoes in Van Zandt County.

Hwy 80 expansion "sneak peek"

The Forney Messenger got a "sneak peek" at the plans for the upcoming expansion of Hwy 80 that will be unveiled and on display at the City Council meeting on Tuesday at 6:30pm.

VEHICLES RUMMAGED

Forney police report that late last week they received complaints from several Heritage Hill residents that someone was rummaging through vehicles. Nothing was stolen; however police ask that if you leave your car, lock it—and if you leave any valuables inside, be sure they’re out of sight.
