Three suspects arrested following June 16 incident

FORNEY, TX—On Friday, June 16, 2017 at 9:18 p. m., Forney police responded to reports of a disturbance at Forney Community Park, located at 241 S. FM 548, for a reported fight in progress involving a large number of people.

FORNEY EDUCATION FOUNDATION MEETING

The Forney Education Foundation will mewet Monday evening, June 19, fr their regular June meeting.   The meeting will begin at 6:30 p. m. in the board room of the FISD Aministration Building, 600 S. Bois d’Arc.   The Foundation wil not hold a meeting in July.  Meetings will resume in August.

SPECIAL MEETING

The Forney IsD Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting Monday, June 26 at 6:30 p.. m. in the board room of the FISD Administration Building, 600 S Bois d’Arc.   There will be a public hearing to discuss the proposed budget for the 2017-2018 fiscal year, which begins July 1, 2017.

Man taken into custody after U. S. 80 chase, standoff

On Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 7:53 am, the Forney Police Department received calls of a disturbance in the 400 block of Woodcrest Way. A caller advised she saw a female in the bed of a yellow Dodge pickup screaming for help.

Crossing upgrades prompt detours

For several days prior to Tuesday, a message on the Lions Club electronic notice board on S. Bois d’Arc had warned motorists that the area in the vicinity of the railroad crossing on S. Bois d’Arc would be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

Forney Lions Club installs new officers

Council terminates Markout Water maintenance contract on split vote

During the open meeting of Tuesday night’s City Council meeting, the Council and the Mayor recognized Cyndi and Mike Thomas of 4-T’s Bar-B-Q and elected a new Mayor Pro Tem. Mayor Rick Wilson asked for a motion concerning the appointment of a Mayor Pro Tem.
