Road improvements continue; Council calls for quarterly review of police chief

Continuing a trend covering the last two years, the August Talty City Council meeting featured another update on road improvements. PaveCon has been working one road project for several months as planning has been ongoing for another phase which will include other city maintained roadways.

City employees to get raises

The Forney City Council held their first public hearing Tuesday night, Aug. 22 during a special meeting. After opening ceremonies, Mayor Rick Wilson asked for a motion to open the public hearing to discuss the proposed budget.

Second ‘Coffee With the Mayor’ held Aug. 5

Mayor Rick Wilson held he second of his “Coffee With the Mayor” public forums last Saturday, Aug. 5 at Alfredo’s on U. S. Highway 80. The public forum, which began at 9:00 a. m., is a way for the Mayor to speak to citizens and for citizens to ask questions of the Mayor.

Council votes to waive attorney-client privilege

In the final action item on the open agenda of a lengthy City Council meeting Tuesday night, City Council members voted to waive attorney-client privilege and to release information that had been requested by two separate parties under the Public Information Act.
