    About the Candidate   My wife and I live in Forney.  We have three sons, a 17 year old who attends Forney High School, a 30 year old who works for Union Pacific Railroad and a 27 year old navy veteran who works for Homeland Security.  I grew up in Forney and graduated from Forney High School.

Forney police are asking the public’s help in solving the burglary of a Forney gun shop in which several firearms were taken the night of Apr. 17-18, the Forney Messenger has learned. Surveillance video taken inside CYA Guns & Ammo, 200 East U. S.

MADISON HORTON QUALIFIES FOR REGIONAL GOLF TOOUIRNAMENT

On April 10-11, the Forney ISD golf teams participated in the District 15-5A Golf Tournament at the Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club.  Individually, Madison Horton, a senior from Forney High School, finished 6th overall at the district tournament. Overall she shot a two-round total of 172 (87-85).

Forney police report that late last week they received complaints from several Heritage Hill residents that someone was rummaging through vehicles. Nothing was stolen; however police ask that if you leave your car, lock it—and if you leave any valuables inside, be sure they’re out of sight.

SCHOOL TRUSTEES VOTE TO REFINANCE BONDS

   During the school board meeting held Apr. 3, trustees gave approval to the refinancing of bonds as they become callable. The vote came after a detailed presentation by Forney ISD’s Chief Financial Officer, John Chase. See our Apr. 6 issue for more dtails and a full account of the meeting.
