Three Rights Make a Left

It was a scene that was more than I could never have imagined. The auditorium at the Dallas Convention Center was filled to capacity, almost 10,000 NRA members. A familiar, soft spoken humble man took the stage and looked out at the crowd.

Facebook has been getting on my nerves. I’m not a big fan of government regulation, however it is becoming clear that it is controlled by people of a political bent that isn’t the way I lean. Even so I don’t want to see a lot of government regulation attached to it or any other area of the internet.

Jesus taught His disciples to never judge others. He said that the judgment we pass on others is the judgment we will receive. If we judge someone to be lower than us, someone else will judge us the same way. We are not qualified to judge others because we cannot see their true problems.

A few weeks ago, my friend Sammy Walker posted a track and field event that seems unbelievable. I get to spend a lot of time with Sammy since we go to church together and so I get to meet a lot of celebrities both minor and major.

We all love to fantasize about those “miracle questions” like what would you do if you won the lottery or got three wishes. Being (as the title suggests) stranger than most, I don’t dream about money or power. My desires have to do with acquiring knowledge.

Repeat after me. “You kids are going to do what you DO, not what you SAY.” I don’t see why that’s so hard to understand. But time and again parents thrust their children into my office expecting me to fix “bad” behavior while they sit in the waiting room playing with their phones.

Jesus taught His disciples, don’t worry about what they would eat, drink, or wear. He told them that if GOD could clothe the grass and flowers with such beauty, He could take care of them. Jesus wanted them to be free to spread the gospel around the world.
