It was a scene that was more than I could never have imagined. The auditorium at the Dallas Convention Center was filled to capacity, almost 10,000 NRA members. A familiar, soft spoken humble man took the stage and looked out at the crowd. It was my cousin Stephen Willeford who I have loved like a brother for all of his life. My brother Ron and I agreed that it had always been easy to imagine that Stephen would be a hero someday. In our eyes we already felt that way before the events in
Sutherland Springs last November. Stephen had always been a good man. A Christian, a husband, a father a friend. But a public speaker in front of thousands of people was something we never could have envisioned. Before that event he has mentioned that he couldn’t imagine doing what I do and speaking at Churches across the country.
