On Thursday October 31st, the freezer at the Forney Food Pantry suffered a mechanical issue, which caused the freezer to stop working and the pantry to lose all of its frozen food items.

After forcing Austin’s homeless population out from under state overpasses earlier this week, Gov. Greg Abbott’s office on Thursday announced a plan to provide a five-acre plot of land for homeless people to camp temporarily until more permanent shelter can be identified.

It was an interesting week for the Crandall Pirates. A loss at the hands of the Midlothian Heritage Jaguars gave the Pirates a 2-1 record in district standings with an overall record of 5-3 on the season.

Just 5 short years ago, the District’s enrollment was around 8,300 students. Fast forward 6 years later and any day now we will be enrolling our 12,000th student. We have experienced a tremendous amount of growth, but especially in the last two years, growing by almost 2,000 students.
