FISD football scrimmage information

North Forney and South Garland high schools and Forney and Creekview high schools will be participating in scrimmages on August 25 with all gate proceeds being donated to the THSCEF Benevolence Fund. This day has become known as “Our Day to Shine.

Forney ISD volleyball update

FHS, NFHS coaches hold annual 2-day kickoff meeting

Coaches from Forney ISD’s high school and middle school campuses gathered in the board room of the FISD administration building Monday morning for the first half of the annual two-day training they undergo before the beginning of each school year.

Team Velocity awards two senior scholarships

Team Velocity of Forney, a summer youth track and field program, awarded a scholarship to two seniors, Philip Hawthorne and Cassidy Minter. Cassidy will be attending East Texas Baptist University and Philip will be attending the U. S. Air Force Academy.

Forney Taekwondo to compete at U. S. National Championships

Between July 3 and July 8, students of Forney Taekwondo will compete at the U. S. National Championships in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. They will compete in sparring and forms. The group has been training for five weeks, four hours a day, six days a week for the competition.

Gates will open at the Forney High School

BROWNWOOD, Texas —Sixteen Forney ISD Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) cadets recently attended and graduated from two separate leadership courses held at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas during the week of June 4.

June 17 softball alumni game to benefit Guliano Scholarship Fund

This Saturday, Forney High School Athletic Director Neal Weaver and Katelyn Curry will host “Angel in the Outfield”, a softball alumni game to honor the the late Emily Guliano and her family. Proceeds from the game will benefit the Emily Guliano Scholarship Fund.

Hawn qualifies again

AUSTIN (May 25-27, 2017)—For the second straight year, Kiana Hawn, a 2014 Forney High School graduate, has qualified to the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Track and Field Championships. She qualified for the NCAA Championships again in her specialty events of the 400 hurdles and the 4X400 relay.
