As an outdoors writer for almost three decades with a passion for catching white bass and their genetically altered cousin, the hybrid striper, I have had the privilege of fishing all the best fisheries in Texas through the years. I can honestly say that when Lake Cooper is hot, the fishing here is the best I’ve experienced anywhere.
For the past couple of years, the fishing here has been “off” due to low water conditions in past years and a cold winter three years ago that caused a massive shad kill. But right now, Cooper is hot, red hot, and fishing is as good as or better than it’s ever been!
