Forney City Council Hires New City Manager

After a nation-wide search, the Forney City Council voted to appoint Tony Carson as the new City Manager of Forney during the June 28 special meeting. Carson is currently serving as the City Manager in Pekin, Illinois, having been with the City of Pekin since November 2016.

Forney Fire Department Holds Badge Pinning Ceremony

The first day of practice was on January 26th. That was 135 days ago. 19+ weeks of practices, scrimmages and games. They didn’t get a Spring Break. 44 games to be exact. It’s the 44th game that hurts, but what we should all remember is the ride over the first 43 games. What a ride it was!

4-T’s Bar-B-Q Participates in the Second Annual Texas Monthly MeatUp Event Held in San Antonio

The second annual Texas Monthly MeatUp was held last weekend, June 9, 2018, in San Antonio, Texas. Six BBQ Pitmasters and six chefs were invited to attend this regional event held at Pearl Stable. Forney’s very own, 4-T’s Bar-B-Q and Catering was one of the featured Pitmasters.

Jackrabbit Baseball Headed to State Tourney

It was a great weekend to be a Jackrabbit. The Lady Jackrabbit Softball Team won the State Championship. Just a couple of hours afterwards, the Jackrabbit Baseball Team punched their own ticket to the State Tourney and a chance to bring home a second championship in as many weeks.

Jackrabbit Baseball Advances to Regional Final

For the first time this postseason, the Jackrabbit Baseball team played in a possible elimination game. The boys prevailed, 7-0, and will move on to the Regional Finals against familiar foe Prosper High School. All games are scheduled for 7:30 starts and will be played at Dallas Baptist University.
