Over the past two weekends, the Forney High School Drumline competed in both the HEB Drumline Contest as well as the Plano Drumline Contest, winning 1st place in their category at each competition as well as receiving multiple caption awards.
The drumline traveled to Pennington Field in Bedford, TX on September 15th to compete in the HEB Drumline Contest for the 5th consecutive year. In 2017, they were awarded first place in the 5A Advanced Category and took the captions for Best Snares and Best Front Ensemble. This year, they defended their championship by placing 1st in the 5A Advanced Category and taking the captions for Best Basses and Best Tenors.
This past Saturday, the group traveled to Plano Senior High School to compete once again, this time in the AA Standstill Division I category. After the imminent threat of rain forced the competition organizers to move the event indoors, the students overcame the obstacles in front of them and put on another great show that would go on to win them another 1st place trophy as well as the caption award for Best Tenors.
