Girl Scout Troop 2887 dedicates butterfly garden

On Saturday, May 13, a group of Junior Girl Scouts from Troop 2887 dedicated a butterfly garden the troop created in Forney Community Park. The garden, which is filled with young plants that are welcoming to butterflies, is located behind the pavilion barn in the Community Park soccer complex.

Heritage Hill holds block party

On May 7th, 2017, the neighbors of Heritage Hill got together for their 1st annual block party. It was a come and go, between 2 and 5 pm, and approximately 30 people came. There was a bounce house and hula hoops for the kids.

Two NFHS seniors presented with KCSO scholarship

On March 25, 2017, The Kaufman County Sheriff’s department hosted the 1st Annual 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament for Forney ISD graduating seniors. This tournament was opened to both high schools in Forney. Seniors were able to be placed in a drawing for their (KCSO) scholarship.

WMS presents ‘Singin’ in the Rain

On Friday night, the Forney Messenger covered the opening of the Warren Middle School production of the romantic musical Singin’ in the Rain. The WMS production is an adaptation of the story that eventually became a movie which Gene Kelly made famous with his rendition of the title song.

Blackburn invades downtown

The second grade classes from Blackburn Elementary School “invaded” Forney Friday, Apr. 21 on a morning field trip. In three groups, the students, along with teachers and adult chaperones, visited the Forney Fire Station, the Spellman Museum of Forney History, the post office, and City Hall.
