On Saturday, May 13, a group of Junior Girl Scouts from Troop 2887 dedicated a butterfly garden the troop created in Forney Community Park. The garden, which is filled with young plants that are welcoming to butterflies, is located behind the pavilion barn in the Community Park soccer complex. Mayor Rick Wilson attended the short dedication ceremony and offered a few remarks. 2 Also in attendance were City Council Mary Penn, Richard Curry, Forney’s Director of Parks and Recreation, and Kim Welch, a member of the Park Board.
