On Friday night, the Forney Messenger covered the opening of the Warren Middle School production of the romantic musical Singin’ in the Rain. The WMS production is an adaptation of the story that eventually became a movie which Gene Kelly made famous with his rendition of the title song. The musical, which ran Friday and Saturday nights with a Sunday matinee, was directed by Leah Corcoran and Katlyn Trotter. All three performances took place in the Forney High School Performing Arts Center. The story is about the romantic entanglements of Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont, two silent movie era Hollywood actors who are working to establish and maintain their careers
