Victorian Village Breaks Ground in Downtown Forney

Excitement loomed in Downtown Forney on Friday morning, January 4th as the long-awaited Victorian Village office and retail development project broke ground. Approximately 30 people gathered in the sunny, yet cold weather to celebrate the occasion.

Congressman Lance Gooden took the official Oath of Office on Thursday to join the 116th Congress along with 100 other newly elected representatives. Congress immediately took up votes to fund the government, with dispute over funding for a border wall at the center of the debate.

FHS Band Participates in Texas A&M Commerce Honor Band

Ten students from the Forney High School band program participated in the 61st annual Texas A&M University Commerce Junior/Senior Honor Band that took place November 16th and 17th. Students were nominated by band directors Jarod Garica, Erin Funk and Riley Warren.
