A Ted by Any Other Name

I grew up in an unincorporated area of Dallas County, smack dab between Seagoville and Combine. We lived in the country, sans public water or sewer. My father dug a well for us, by hand, using a complicated system of interlocking concrete cylinders, a wooden platform, ropes, and a bucket.

NFHS FFA does well at Kaufman County Livestock Show

The week of February 25th North Forney FFA students exhibited their livestock projects at the Kaufman County Livestock Show. We had 32 students that exhibited almost 50 different projects. Before I list out the individual results I have to first brag on our biggest accomplishment of the week.

Hillcrest Cemetery Board of Directors announces 2018 Officers

At the February 19, 2018, Hillcrest Cemetery (Forney Cemetery, Inc.) Board of Directors Meeting, the official Officers and Regular Board Members were seated and ready to work when roll was called at 7:00 p. m. in the meeting room of the Presbyterian Church of Forney, our usual gathering place.

Johnson Elementary Student Wins Awards at Technology Olympics

Emma Stephens, a 4th grade student at Johnson Elementary School in Forney ISD, recently competed in the Technology Olympics held at the Region 10 Education Service Center. Stephens won Second Place in the Calculator 1 Competition and captured Third Place in the Breakout EDU competition.

NFHS wins annual Catapult Challenge

Each year the Algebra II classes from FHS and NFHS face off in a Catapult Challenge. On Friday, February 17th, North Forney High School and Forney High School Algebra II classes held their annual Catapult Challenge. After a day of fun and hard work, NFHS won for the 2nd year in a row!!
