The Mesquite Fire Department participated in the Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb Saturday September 4th. Mesquite had 25 firefighters participating, the most out of the 101 fire departments represented.

Crandall ISD History Made as the 5,000th Student Enrolled in the District

On the first day of school, Martin Elementary first grader Zuri Paniagua didn’t know it, but she made Crandall ISD history as the 5,000th student enrolled in the district. But that record number didn’t stop there -- as of September 1, CISD has 5,356 students enrolled.

Mesquite Park in Honor of Jon Latimore - the City’s First African American Police Officer

Jon Latimore was hired in 1985 as the first African American Police Officer to serve in the Mesquite Police Department. On September 7, the Mesquite City Council approved a resolution naming a future park to be located on North Bryan Avenue in his honor.
