The City of Forney and the Forney Fire Department are pleased to announce that Fire Marshal Brian Jones has been appointed as our next Deputy Fire Chief of Support Services, effective May 12, 2025. In this role, he will oversee key areas such as logistics, facilities, the Fire Marshal’s Office, Emergency Management, and overall support services.
Chief Jones joined the Forney Fire Department in June 2021, serving as a Fire Investigator/Inspector and, most recently, as Fire Marshal. His extensive career includes service with the Bossier City Fire Department as a firefighter and with the Shreveport Fire Department as both a firefighter and fire prevention officer.
Jones holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Fire Services Administration from Columbia Southern University, is a licensed peace officer, and is a graduate of the FBI Hazardous Devices School. He has also completed the Texas Battalion Chiefs Academy through the Texas Fire Chiefs Association, as well as Fire Executive Management Training through the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas.
