On Saturday May 3rd, City of Forney voters reelected Mayor Jason Roberson and Place 2 Councilman Cecil Chamber.
Mayor Roberson received 972 votes (61.7%), Caz Tankersley received 48 (3.05%), while newcomer Weston E.
Themer received 555 votes (35.24%).
Councilman Cecil Chamber received 955 votes (61.85%) to newcomer Nofel Molai’s 589 votes (38.15%).
The candidates will be sworn in later this month.
Forney ISD Trustees Becky Dobbs and Katrina Black both were re-elected. Trustee Dobbs received 1,808 votes (68.77%) compared to her opponent, newcomer Clarrose Rabon with 821 (31.23%). Trustee Katrina Black received 2,091 (80.15%) while her opponent received 518 (19.85%). The candidates will be sworn in later this month.
Kaufman County voters approved Proposition A, approving the construction of a Juvenile Detention Center. Kaufman County does not currently have a facility to house juvenile offenders.
Kaufman County has 108,357 registered voters. 7,902 ballots were cast county wide for a 7.29% voter turnout.
