We all know this wonderful saying, and as is common in these types of sayings, there is a truth in them. And since April is almost over, it’s time to look for those flowers!

The Forney Education Foundation has been able to “create” those showers with the help of the donors that understand the mission that FEF is dedicated to – lighting the way for teaching and learning in Forney ISD. And the teacher-requested grants that are funded, along with the STEAM camp sponsorships and the Blackland Prairie Film Festival, are definitely the “flowers” that bloom for the students in Forney ISD. The teachers whose grants were funded this school year have been using them in their classes, and their students have definitely benefited from the extras those grants provided.

The Blackland Prairie Film Festival occurred on April 17 at The OC. This evening was a wonderful time watching future filmmakers beginning their film careers.

The STEAM camps have been extremely popular since their first appearance in 2017 with 196 students in 16 sessions. Every year the excitement around registering for the STEAM camps grows bigger. The great thing about the camps is the opportunity for teachers and students to really dig into topics that they are passionate about.

And the Board of Directors for the Foundation are grateful for the support of all of the donors that contribute to FEF knowing that we are careful stewards of the money they give in support of the teachers and students in Forney ISD.
