The City of Forney has had ongoing discussions with the Dallas Stars about bringing a Stars-branded multisport complex to Forney. This project is being explored to meet the growing recreational needs of Forney residents and expand access to high-quality facilities for our community. The proposed facility could feature an ice-skating rink, multiple volleyball and basketball courts, pickleball courts, a restaurant, a sports clinic, and more.

“Forney has emerged as one of North Texas’ most exciting and fast-growing communities,” said Dallas Stars President and CEO Brad Alberts. “Our collaborative partnerships with cities have allowed our Children’s Health StarCenters and RYSE Energy Multisport facilities to serve families across North Texas and we are very interested in exploring how a similar facility could serve the families of Forney and the surrounding area.”

The next step in the process is for the City to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study that will evaluate the viability of such a project along with which type of sports center would best meet the needs of the Forney community. This study will consider factors such as the ideal facility size and the types of amenities that would serve residents and visitors most effectively.

“We’re always exploring ways to enhance the quality of life for our residents,” said Mayor Jason Roberson. “Exploring a partnership with the Dallas Stars is an exciting step toward bringing more recreational options to our community, and we’re eager to see what this feasibility study reveals.”
