City Manager Charles Daniels has officially named John Holcomb as Fire Chief of the Forney Fire Department. Chief Holcomb has served as Interim Fire Chief since January 2025 and now takes on the role permanently, bringing several years of experience and service to the community.
Chief Holcomb began his fire service career in 1990 and has been a dedicated member of the Forney Fire Department since 2010. During his time with the department, he has served in several key leadership roles, including Fire Marshal, Assistant Chief, Emergency Management Coordinator, and Deputy Fire Chief.
Chief Holcomb has also completed several advanced training programs, including the Fire Executive Management Training Program through the Leadership and Executive Management Institute (LEMIT), the Certified Fire Executive program from the Texas Fire Chiefs Academy, and the Executive Planning Certification from the National Fire Academy.
“It’s an honor to have the opportunity to serve as Fire Chief for the City of Forney,” Holcomb said. “I’m proud of the work our department does, and I look forward to continuing that work as Forney grows. Our goal will always be to provide great service and keep our community safe.”
