The Layden Senior Citizens Center of Forney would like to welcome you at 101 Main Street in City Hall, open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please enter the front or through handicap-accessible doors located at the back of City Hall, where reserved parking for seniors is also available.
The center is a non-profit organization, and we work on donations. Therefore, all are much appreciated. As Peter Marshall said, “The measure of life is not its duration, but its donations.”
The center is thankful for our generous donors: Panera Bread, Smurfit Kappa, Papa John’s Pizza, and our Bingo sponsors: Alinea Hospice, Cheyenne Medical Lodge, Empower, Rely On Credit Union, and Oak Street Health, each of whom contributes weekly prizes. We invite you to frequent them whenever you can.
If you or anyone you know may be interested in helping volunteer to deliver Meals on Wheels from the Center, please contact Danielle, the Director, for more details.
There are always fun and meaningful activities happening at the Center, in addition to our regularly scheduled ones as follows: Bingo on Mondays, Fridays at 10:00 Bridge club on Tuesdays, Thursdays at 12:30 Noodle Ball on Tuesdays at 11:00 Chair Exercises at 9:00 daily, Tuesday-Friday, when the Center is open.
If you have suggestions for other activities, please contact Danielle. Also, be sure to pick up your copy of the March calendar so as not to miss out on any fun activities.

This past week, we enjoyed a St. Patrick’s Day pizza party on Monday, 3/17, played Bunco on Tuesday, 3/18, celebrated March birthdays on Wednesday, 3/19, and saw the movie ‘Going In Style’ on Thursday, 3/20.
Next week, on Tuesday, 3/25, Stephanie Jones will present a class on dealing with dementia at 10:00. Play noodle balls or do crafts on Wednesday, 3/26, and watch the movie “The War Room” on Thursday, 3/27. Of note, Film Alley will also host seniors for their movie in Terrell on the same date. Remember to bring a canned good for free entry.
If you plan to eat lunch each day, please sign up by 10:30 at the latest. Make a point to look at each week’s menu and sign up early, so as not to worry about forgetting. And in this way, we can ensure there is enough food for everyone.
