On January 14th, the opening day of the 89th Legislative Session, Representative Keith Bell (R-Forney) was sworn in for his fourth term as State Representative for District 4. Surrounded by family, friends, and supporters, Representative Bell proudly took the oath of office, reaffirming his dedication to serving Kaufman County and Northwest Henderson County.

Reflecting on the term ahead, Representative Bell highlighted his commitment to advancing a conservative agenda focused on protecting Texas families, supporting rural communities, and safeguarding taxpayer interests.

“This session, we have the opportunity to make Texas stronger, safer, and freer,” said Representative Bell. “I am committed to advancing President Trump’s America First policies right here in Texas by prioritizing the interests of hard-working Texans, cutting wasteful spending, and returning the state’s historic budget surplus to the taxpayers. We must continue to ensure that rural values are protected, property taxes are cut, and our conservative legacy is preserved for future generations.”

Bell outlined his dedication to supporting a range of priorities, including strengthening the Texas economy, enhancing public safety, and defending personal freedoms. His legislative goals include expanding local water infrastructure investments, bolstering skilled trades, and prohibiting hostile foreign nations from purchasing Texas land.

In addition, Bell emphasized his unwavering support for protecting agricultural communities and their way of life. “Rural Texas is the backbone of our state,” he said. “We must ensure our farmers, ranchers, and small business owners have the tools they need to thrive. From safeguarding the Second Amendment to protecting private property rights, I will continue to be their strong advocate.”

Representative Bell also highlighted the importance of fostering economic growth while reducing the burden on taxpayers. “We must work to reduce regulatory red tape and foster an environment where businesses can flourish,” he added.

“Our values—faith, family, and freedom—define who we are as Texans,” he said. “This session, I will fight to protect these principles, secure economic opportunities, and defend our freedoms from overreach at every level.”

House District 4 includes Kaufman County and Northwest Henderson County and serves as the Chair of the Sunset Advisory Commission. A graduate of Dallas Baptist University, Keith and his wife, Annette, have been married for 40 years. They have two grown daughters, five grandchildren, and are members of First Baptist Church of Forney.
