Saturday, December 14, 2024, the Spellman Museum of Forney History hosted an Art Reception and Meet the Artist Event for “FIE,” whose art work is currently displayed in the “multi-purpose room” hallway. Displayed are seven portraits in oil of the artist’s family, friends, and muses. Twenty people enjoyed a presentation by the artist—plus food and drink. Fie’s art will be on exhibit through Saturday, January 11.

More about the artist, “FIE,” who started her art career at the early age of five years with a portrait of her Aunt Sharlanne. The artist is very thankful for her deceased mother, Mary, who always allowed her the freedom to become immersed in her creative imagination for art…..and her artwork is still an ongoing process and still evolving!

Sometimes she chooses subject matter just for the challenge of playing around with a particular color, but mostly she tries to re-create a mental image onto her canvas. Her desire is “to show God how thankful and blessed she is for the gift He has given her and to share it with all people.”

FIE’s work has been shown at the 8680 Gallery in in Frisco, Texas, and has received excellent reviews by New York’s Sotheby’s Auction House and countless other galleries. FIE lives in Oak Cliff and is related to the Alexander Family here in Forney.
