Did you realize that December 17 is National Say It Now Day? It is a day that encourages you to tell friends and loved ones how important they are to you by expressing gratitude for how important they are to your life and all the positive ways they have impacted it. With the year winding down, it’s the perfect time to show gratitude to those around us for all they have done for us during the year. We all need to make time for gratitude, and National Say It Now Day gives us a reason to pause and reflect on what our people mean to us.
Practicing gratitude is more than saying “thank you.” It’s about showing appreciation for the good things brought into our lives. Each time we practice gratitude, we create a sense of happiness and positivity. In fact, the happiness we create not only shifts our own thinking, it also shifts the thinking of those receiving it.
Research shows that gratitude can enhance our moods, decrease stress, and improve our overall health and well-being. People who show and practice gratitude are more physically fit, happier, and have more satisfying personal and professional relationships.
The Forney Education Foundation practices gratitude daily through the relationships it has fostered with our teachers, parents, friends, and donors. When the Grant Train rolls through Forney ISD, the Board members experience many moments of gratitude on both sides. As one of those members who has had the opportunity to meet those teachers when they receive their grant, we hear from the teachers how grateful they are and we get to tell them how grateful we are for their dedication to their students. It is truly one of the best moments in life. And here is your opportunity to Say It Now– visit www.forneyisdfoundation. org and choose how you want to express gratitude for the teachers in Forney ISD either by an unspecified donation or by choosing to Adopt-A-Grant through the end of the year. We are listening!
