December has begun, and once again the Forney Community has already shown it is ready to step up and help their fellow residents through a significant time of year. Many families are going through struggles this year due to different issues, but their neighbors are stepping up and helping out. The Forney family knows how important it is to help others with a hand up to give a sense of hope for the holiday moments to enable families to have strong memories of love within themselves and through their hometown.
There are many familyoriented events happening throughout the first weekends in the month that will give families opportunities to create strong ties within themselves. Beginning with the first weekend, Christmas on Main will happen in the afternoon in historic downtown Forney. Then the second weekend, the OC will be the site of many fun events that will be family-friendly beginning early with the Forney Education Foundation’s 6th Annual Antlers and TuTus Fun Run and then continuing with other events through the day.
The Foundation is looking forward to ending this year strong for the teachers and students in Forney ISD. As a Board member, I know how important every donation is to the mission of FEF. We do appreciate our donors that can give large dollar amounts to us to enable the beginnings of many things, but we also appreciate the other amounts that are given to us. The Foundation is very careful stewards of all of the monies given to it regardless of the amount, so please do not think your donation amount does not matter to the big picture in Forney ISD because it definitely does.
