Thanksgiving is a holiday that has evolved into a wonderful symbol of thankfulness for the blessings that we have been given through our works and deeds. The Forney Education Foundation has experienced many blessings throughout its existence, and it believes in passing along these gifts to others throughout the year whether it be the annual Grant Train arriving at the schools and giving teachers the “yes, your grant was funded” or the distribution of backpacks to students in need or new to the district or helping to facilitate Thanksgiving meals or Angel Tree gifts.
The many opportunities that come to FEF through the generous support of the various benefactors that have stepped up over the last 20 years are heartwarming for the board members and especially for the students and teachers that benefit from the donations. The Foundation has been known to tell the story to many wonderful people who then realize how sincere the board is in being good stewards of those funds. And the Grant Committee studies those applications carefully to determine which are the grants to select to fund with those monies.
And here is the opportunity for the Forney community to participate in funding grants and distributing blessings in Forney ISD. The Adopt-A-Grant program is open through the end of the year enabling you to read through the grants and adopt one! The procedure is very simple–just visit www.forneyisdfoundation. org and read about the Foundation. Please remember that any amount is a blessing that the Forney Education Foundation is ver y thankful to receive.
