Funeral Services for Kay Jones, 79, of Forney, will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 9, 2024, at McWhorter Funeral Home with Eddie Marsh officiating. Interment to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday.

Kay was born on May 6, 1945, to Edison Otis and Emma Lucille Gage Marsh and passed from this life on November 4, 2024, in Sunnyvale, Texas.

Kay graduated from North Texas University and worked as a teacher for over 25 years. She worked at Metropolitan Christian School before her retirement. She enjoyed playing the piano, loved music, reading, and constantly learning. Kay was proudly a devoted servant to God and found it important to share her salvation with anyone. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Forney for many years. Kay was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard Jones; son, Michael Maines (Lisa); daughter, Michelle Whitfield (Michael); brother, Carl Eddie Marsh (Linda), sister Beth Baldor (Juan), and brother David Marsh; grandchildren, Carissa Maines, Allison Maines, Sarah Whitfield, and Rebecca Whitfield; great-grandchildren, Landry Whitfield, and Adalynn Whitfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edison and Lucille Marsh; and sisters, Linda Watts, Jean Nolan, Susan Stephens, and Sharon Lasher.
