The Spellman Museum is proud to announce the opening of our new “Genealogy Project.” Our mission statement is the following: The Spellman Museum recognizes that an important part of our history is composed of the people who lived here, raised families, and built our Community. The purpose of the Genealogy Project is to aid people wishing to research and share these generations of our forefathers. Our goal is to preserve this important part of our area’s history for future generations.

This Department will be available by appointment only to help individuals with their research and is now ready and willing and looking forward to the success of this new project.

Please email our Museum Manager/Director, Mrs. Kendall Nobles, at Spellman Museum of Forney History (historicfor-ney@ gmail.com.) She will schedule your visit and email you a form with suggested information to bring with you.

Research help will be available from 11:00 a. m. to 4:00 p. m. on Fridays. Members of the Forney Historic Preservation League pay no fees, and non-members will be charged $5.00 per session.

Please come and share old family photos, clippings, family tree information, and other important genealogy-related materials with us. Also, we will share any information that we have with you. Photos will be scanned while you are here.

The entire Board, and especially Sarah Kelly (Genealogy Director) and Deborah Singleton Stuart (Board President), heartily invite you to: “Please come and help us to celebrate and share our HERITAGE!”
