The Forney Police Officers Association PAC
(FPOA) today announced their endorsement of the Forney Crime Control and Prevention District proposition on the November 5 ballot.
“The Forney Police Officers Association PAC enthusiastically endorses the Crime Control and Prevention District proposition,” said FPOA President Curtis Billings. “With voter approval, we can hire more police officers, increase efforts to fight violent crime, protect our children against gangs and drugs, and provide more neighborhood police patrols. Thanks to smart planning by our Mayor and City Council, there will be absolutely NO increase in our sales or property tax rates with the passage of this important crime-fighting proposition.”
In addition to the FPOA, retired police officers living in Forney are also urging residents to vote YES on the Forney Crime Control and Prevention District proposition, especially after a vocal anti-police activist announced his opposition to improving funding for law enforcement through a series of angry social media posts.
“The men and women of the Forney Police Department risk their lives each day to keep our families safe,” said Clint McNear, a retired police officer & longtime Forney resident. “So we can’t let anti-police zealots who have referred to our officers as ‘pigs’ lie and mislead voters about the Forney Crime Control & Prevention District. Vote YES and provide our officers with the tools they need to protect every neighborhood in our special city.”
