Trinity Valley Community College (TVCC) showcased its Cardinal athletes and student performers during the All-Star Showcase, hosted by The Office of Student Life, on Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Cardinal Gym on the TVCC Athens campus.
“We have a diverse, amazing, and talented group of young men and women from all over the world,” exclaimed Director of Student Life Audrey Hawkins.
With over 400 students participating in athletic teams and performing groups, TVCC is home to national championship-winning teams, Hawkins noted.
TVCC President Dr. Jason Morrison expressed his excitement for the event.
“This event isn’t just about celebrating our student-athletes and performers; it’s about celebrating our community, ” Dr. Morrison said. “TVCC has a brand that is known around the world. Our students are the ambassadors of our college, and it shows in how they represent both themselves and the institution.” Dr. Morrison also shared how honored he is to be the college’s president and to work alongside the students.
“There are no words to describe how our students impact my life as an educator,” he added. “They inspire me to work hard and ensure they have everything they need to be successful. I want them to have a true college experience— one that isn’t taught by any other institution across the country.”
Director of Athletics Eddie Kite echoed Dr. Morrison’s enthusiasm, sharing his excitement for another successful year at TVCC.
“We have a reputation unlike any other junior college,” Kite said. “This is a special place because of the hard work and dedication our students put in every single day. I look forward to a successful season and to seeing what our Cardinals achieve this year!”
The athletic teams and performing groups featured during the showcase include the Cardinal Regiment Band, Women’s Basketball Team, Men’s Basketball Team, Beef Cattle Show Team, Cardettes, Cheer, Esports, Football, Rodeo, Soccer, Softball, Theatre, and Volleyball.
