With the school year comfortably underway, the Forney Education Foundation has “started” school as well. Not that FEF took the summer off for vacation! Instead, we were busy helping the students in Forney ISD. The Foundation was involved in the Summer STEAM camps by providing lunch to camp instructors and student workers every Thursday during the timeline of the camps.

FEF also supported Project Backpack with management, resources, and partnerships to provide backpacks and school supplies to over 1500 students in Forney ISD. FEF will also be partnering up with Forney Fire Department later this school year for Fired Up For Reading! Once again, the Foundation provided t-shirts to every Kindergartener in FISD with their graduating year on the front – Class of 2036!

This year, FEF was one of eight local nonprofits in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area to receive a grant from NBC Universal for their annual Community Impact grant program. FEF will receive $10,000 along with media coverage on our organization’s work.

The window for the district wide teacher-requested grants opens soon. The innovative nature of these grants really adds to the quality of the education that children in FISD receive.

When North Texas Giving Day happens (this year it is on Thursday, September 19), Forney Education Foundation will be participating again. This one-day major fundraising campaign provides another opportunity to support FEF.

We know that all of the good work that FEF does only happens because of the generosity of the Forney Family and its many, many partners. We would love for you to partner with us. Please visit www.forneyisdfoundation. org and see how easy it can be to join us!
