1. A while back, I wrote about ROAD RUNNERS that had at one time been rather numerous in this area but seem now to be disappearing. One had arrived on our patio and was chasing a Iarge insect. I asked for help sighting any more still around the Forney area. Two folks have responded so far–“Coach” Neal Weaver (former fellow teacher and now Director of Athletics here for F. I. S. D.) ……and one of my former students and now good friend, Micky Rouvaldt, (retired from ranching and insurance sales and now a “gentleman farmer.”) **Neal Weaver: “I’ve got a “chaparral” that lives on my driveway–one of my favorite birds, maybe a close second behind the “whippoorwills” that talk to me at sunrise and sunset!** **Micky Rouvaldt: “We have a pair that live around here. (Micky and Dana)– photo of one enclosed)** Thanks to both of you, and glad that they are not extinct in our area!

2. I once told a few folks that I had seen a giant “weiner- mobile” in a parking lot during one of our outings, and no one seemed to believe me. So, here is the proof, and I took the photo in November of 2023! …..Just now found the evidence as I was browsing the old “FLIP”!

3. Just for good measure, I have also found the photo of the 1960 Cottontails Captains– Kenny Philips and Bob Pinson–and am including it in this article.
