Their Facebook posting lists the name as “Barneys” without the possessive apostrophe, so I have also!
I was first attracted by their listing of “Red Velvet Pancakes” and their motto, “In Brunch We Trust,” and then their offer: “The best way to eat healthy food.” I also noted that they had opened in 2017 and “after four rounds of voting had won the title of Best Brunch in DFW in the Morning News Readers’ Choice.”
But…..since advertisements sometimes mislead, we asked for help from a LOCAL. Our Granddaughter, Kherington (lifelong Frisco resident), had directed us to this “eating place” one late morning after her first choice was not open for business until late afternoon. Address: 5480, FM 423, #700, Frisco, Texas, 75034 Our wait time was a minute or two to be seated, and attention was prompt and efficient—without pressure to hurry. We had questions, and they were answered pleasantly, with suggestions as to what we might want to try. All the staff was quick, cheerful, and friendly—from the time we entered until we had eaten too much, visited in a nice atmosphere, and strolled out the door.
And now the Most Important Information—the FOOD! Oh, my goodness, it was hot, fresh, and even better than we had expected. It arrived and looked/tasted as advertised. The menu photos and the descriptions were not just “come-ons!” What we ordered: (1) PANCAKES called “Fruit Explosion” with fresh berries, cream cheese glaze, blackberry glaze (2) MEDIT ERRA NEAN OMELET with gyro meat, spinach, onion, tomato, kalamata olives, feta cheese (3) GREEK SALAD with mixed greens, fixed cheese, red onions, tomatoes, beets, kalamata olives, pepperoncini peppers, and choice of chicken breast or gyro meat (4) AVOCADO TOAST (shared by all 3 of us) with whole wheat toast, avocado, red onion, tomato, feta cheese, and two poached eggs.
Viv and I drank coffee, and Kherington chose water.
The ladies talked me out of ordering more to sample, and it was a good thing they did so, because even after I helped with cleaning up the main dishes, we still needed a “to-go box.”
When we return (and we probably will soon), I plan to order Chicken Pesto Panina (yes, Harry Power)--Greek Salad---Strawberry Cream Cheese Crepe dusted with powdered sugar--Belgian Waffle---Southwest Breakfast Bowl with extra chorizo---RED VELVET PANCAKES---and finally a VOODOO BENNY (benedicts). I will probably not order any extra dessert!
P. S. I am a “tightwad” and considered the prices very reasonable for what we were served and the service we received! Let me know if you need me to go along with you when you decide to go!
