The impact of even a simple gesture can manifest an enormous moment in a stranger’s life. Teachers understand that it is the little things that can give a student the motivation needed to start on the learning path. And the Forney Education Foundation also understands that many little moments in students’ and teachers’ lives have added up to many, many large moments for them.
The Foundation gets to experience this wonder every year when the teachers in Forney ISD have submitted their grant requests and the Grant Committee has met and selected the grants that are to be funded. Many times, the idea for the requested grants has come from a seminar that teachers have attended in the summer that is related to their particular teaching field. And when the teachers submit their requests, they explain how the grant will enhance the learning experience for their students. The Grant Committee gets very excited about how impactful the grants will be for the students in those classes.
Since we are in the Summertime Continuing Education/Seminar Session zone, the educational professionals in Forney ISD are making plans and attending events. When school opens in August, the window for grant submission will then open soon. And FEF is excited to see what wonderful ideas the teachers in Forney ISD will present this year. There have been many terrific requests that have been funded through the years, and the committee is looking forward to reading all of the submitted grant requests.
