Hofstra University student organizations, student leaders, and professional staff partners were honored with 2024 Student Leadership Awards for their efforts to positively impact the campus community. The awards were held on April 25 at the Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center in the Multipurpose Room.
Among the honorees was Favour Chibuzo-Enwere from Forney. Favour, a member of the Class of 2025 majoring in Psychology, was named Most Inspiring Student Leader.
In her welcoming remarks, Hofstra President Susan Poser said that the honorees learned life-long lessons through their extracurricular activities. “Leadership is hard,” she said. “It requires some things you might have expected, like dedication and a lot of commitment of time and energy. You also learned that it requires an ability to listen and to provide careful advice to demonstrate even-handedness. This level of decision-making and this type of exposure are going to serve you well for the rest of your career and often for the rest of your life.”
