Weatherford Unseats Primous
Body

In the Forney City and ISD elections held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, twoterm city council member James Traylor handedly defeated challenger Caz Tankersley by a final count of 719 to 208. Newcomer Jay Weatherford managed to unseat incumbent Sandi Primous with a 556 to 395 showing.

In the Forney ISD Board of Trustees election, the numbers were far worse for the challengers. Current Trustee Michael Idemudia defeated Lynette Daniels 1,359 to 529, while Trustee Hanna Bateman beat Yuel Neal 1,427 to 468, a whopping 959 vote difference.

The city council election was quiet from the beginning, an unusual event for a Forney city election. However, social pundits were heavily involved in the FISD Trustee election. Many local social media posters were trying to unseat the Forney ISD Trustees by calling into question those who had endorsed the incumbents and what their intentions were. In the end, the voters saw through the rhetoric and chose Dr. Idemudia and Mrs. Bateman.

Congratulations to all winners.
