Mrs. Maxine Tedder passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Friday, April 5, 2024. Maxine was born in Crandall, Texas to Comer McDowell “Mack” Bannister and Lizzie Bannister on August 22, 1938. Both of her parents have preceded her in death along with her beloved husband Charles “Charlie” Tedder and brother J.C. Bannister.
Maxine worked hard all her life up until she was 80 years old. In the first part of Maxine’s career she took on the custodial duties in the school system and she was faithful to her tasks, enjoying serving others and always being around the students. The second part of her work life was devoted to insurance administration which she poured her heart into as well until she retired at the age of 80. Work was a high priority, but rest assured, the truly important things in Maxine’s life was always her family. She was devoted to her family and made sure every Sunday a gathering of good food and great company was had. Maxine would whip up some homemade fried chicken and the family would gather and eat until their hearts were content, or their bellies were beyond full. Maxine loved her family fiercely, and they in return, loved her with their whole hearts and will miss her until they are reunited again at the Throne of Jesus.
Left to cherish Maxine’s memories are her beloved children, Annette Lewis and husband Judd, Chuck Tedder and wife LeAnn, and Connie Jo Ivy and partner Jim Jennings, grandchildren Bradley Lewis and wife Jennifer, Rebecca Hyde and husband Jason, Dustin Ivy and wife Hannah, Kelcee Ivy, Chad Tedder and Caroline Bork and husband Caden. Also left to carry on her legacy are her precious great grandchildren Cash Lewis, Sadie Hyde, Dani Prda, Abilene Ivy, Nolan Woods, Brayson Hyde, Gloria Ivy, and Noah Hardey, all of whom will miss her very much.
Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at First Baptist Church, Forney in the Small Chapel close to the Administrative Offices. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service time.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to the Hillcrest Cemetery in Forney, Texas and mailed to PO Box 1033, Forney, Texas 75126.
