Professional Broadway show veteran and Irish singer, David Shannon, blends the Broadway standards of his onstage career with the unique sounds of his heritage in a special concert at the Jamie Foxx Performing Arts Center in Terrell at 7:30 pm on Tuesday evening, March 12, 2024.
Growing up in Ireland and singing professionally for more than 25 years, Shannon is famous for his engaging performance style, charming personality, and an innate ability to cross multiple musical genres. Most notably, he brings true authenticity to his entire wide-ranging repertoire.
Shannon has played the leading roles in some of Broadway’s most famous musicals, including The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera, Valjean (Les Miserables), Miss Trunchbull (Matilda), the titular role in Sweeney Todd, Jesus and Judas (Jesus Christ Superstar), Chris (Miss Saigon), and, most recently, Kevin T in the original London Company production of Come From Away. David was also nominated for best actor at the Olivier’s for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Beautiful Game. His E! Terrell concert will feature entertaining stories, Broadway hits, and a touch of Irish music including, but not lmited to, “Bring Him Home,” “Falling Slowly,” “Galway Girl,” “Molly Malone,” “Danny Boy,” and more. This concert is the sixth show of the 2023-2024 E! Terrell season. E! Terrell finale show, coming up on April 25th, features “The Starlets.” Inspired by iconic girls groups like The Supremes, The Shirelles, The Ronnettes and others, these gals will bring back fond memories and exciting pop music favorites of years gone by.
Performing hits like Heatwave, These Boots are made of Walkin’, Stop in the Name of Love, My Boyfriends Back, this trio will have our E! Terrell audience singing along and dancing in the aisles.
