Ketchup as a concept seems basic but the time and effort involved to make ketchup would surprise you. Just like teaching seems easy. However, the thing about public education is it is available to everyone everywhere. And just like ketchup, teaching seems easy from the outside. Teaching correctly is impossible to do without a lot of work from a lot of people.
To make ketchup properly with fresh tomatoes, there are a number of ingredients and pieces of equipment needed. And there is a certain amount of time needed to achieve the final outcome.
To teach properly, there are also a number of needed ingredients that every teacher needs to create a successful student. The family support for the student and the teacher is a vital part of success for learning. And the time factor, just like in ketchupmaking, is enormous in achieving the success that is sought.
Homemade ketchup is truly a labor of love because of the commitment needed to finish successfully. And successful classroom outcomes are also a labor of love for the teacher to give to their students. The outcomes of both of these rely on the combination of many things that come together and create something better than the separate parts.
The Forney Education Foundation has had the privilege to fund teacherrequested grants for many years now and has had the ability to put together many smaller donations to be able to fund a classroom- changing grant. And just like when ketchup is added to a dish, the funding of a grant enhances and uplifts the classroom atmosphere creating positive outcomes.
So, how would you like to make a tasty difference in the students of Forney ISD’s classroom experience? Simply visit www. forneyisdfoundation.org and see how easy it is to donate an “ingredient” to the cooking pot!
