State Representative Keith Bell (R-Forney) has been reappointed to the Texas Sunset Commission, effective now through 2027.

Representative Bell was first appointed to the Sunset Commission in 2021 to sit for the 21 state agencies under review during the 2022-2023 cycle. During the 88th Session, Rep. Bell worked with Senator Schwertner in passing muchneeded reforms to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) through the Sunset Bill - Senate Bill 1397, signed into law by Governor Abbott on June 18, 2023.

“I appreciate Speaker Phelan’s trust, and I’m honored to continue my service,” said Representative Bell. “I remain committed to decreasing government red tape and improving agency effectiveness and efficiency during the 2024-2025 review cycle.”

The Sunset Commission serves as a powerful oversight mechanism, allowing the Texas Legislature to regularly assess state government operations in a focused and structured manner, thereby illuminating state agencies and programs to determine their continued relevance.
