Questions concerning the exact wording of the FHS SCHOOL SONG and its origination have again arisen. So, “Here We Go!”—again. The Forney Band Director for 5 or so years in the mid-‘60s was a very talented man by the name of JOHN G. MILNOR, and he agreed to write the words and music for the song, “Forever Forney High,” which we now play before the beginning of each Varsity Football Game and many times again at the end. And nearly every year, someone asks me the words of the original song, and then that person sometimes believes me but other times says words like the following, “Nah, that ain’t right…..we always sung it this way!”
So, as printed in the 1964 Jackrabbit Annual, here is….. “FOREVER FORNEY HIGH,” words and music by John G. Milthe nor, Band Director.
We’ll be true forever… To the Black and Gold of Forney High...As we travel onward...And as the years go by…We’ll keep her colors ever FLOATING… We’ll raise HER banner to the sky…Always true to the Black and Gold…Forever Forney High…**And I believe that now we usually yell out, “Fight, Fight, Fight” or “Fight, Rabbits, Fight” at the conclusion of the song.** (Themer)
