One of the most American holidays is upon us now – Thanksgiving! The beginning of the holiday is somewhat common lore with the Native Americans helping the Pilgrims to survive and eventually thrive. The example that the Native Americans gave the Pilgrims and the world at large is to help your fellow man when you have plenty, regardless of your differences.
Forney Education Foundation also understands how helping your fellow man – in this case, the students of Forney ISD – makes an enormous difference in their lives. All of the teachers and staff in FISD have thought long and hard about their students – whether they have requested an FEF grant or not – and how to make the classroom experience and environment the best it can possibly be. We at the Foundation exist to give that little extra for our hardworking teachers. The Foundation knows how great the staff in all of the Forney schools is: just looking at the students’ faces when we get the opportunity to visit shows how much the back-and-forth positive vibe between them and their teachers means. And if we are awarding a grant that day, the teachers’ love for their students is palpable.
Now the question can be, how can you have the opportunity to also see the thankfulness of the students and teachers in Forney ISD? Why, by visiting www.forneyisdfoundation. org and choosing to make a donation. Please remember that every donation is welcomed and used in very wise ways. When you go through the site, you will be able to see the results from this year’s Grant Train – two of the best days in the year for the Foundation Board Members. So, go forth and be thankful – we at the Forney Education Foundation are blessed and grateful for the Forney Family and the opportunities to help the students.
