One of the best ideas that people have embraced through social media is using the month of November to remind themselves why they are thankful for the life they have. And many, many of those posts refer to the fact that the poster knows that they are indeed blessed with a good life. But some of our neighbors do not all share the same blessings, and that is where we receive the chance to give back. Part of the blessing in giving back is knowing you have genuinely helped someone who needed a hand up, and doing so anonymously is a soul-enriching way that almost has no equal.
The Forney Chamber of Commerce and the Forney Education Foundation are partnering again to feed 250 families in need this Thanksgiving. There are a couple of ways to help with this mission – in person donations to the Chamber office or visiting this link square.link/u/ GnCWBeYx . If you need more information, you can contact the Chamber office at (972)564-2233 or info@forneychamber. com.
The opportunity to truly help is one of the most rewarding actions for all involved from the givers to the receivers. When the students in Forney ISD were given the chance to participate by helping explain how to help at Kroger this past weekend, they stepped up and helped in a very positive way. The students I saw were respectful and happy to explain why they were there and what the donations were being used for in the community. And this is truly how we teach our kids to be leaders in their community whether it be here in Forney or wherever their future takes them. The Forney Education Foundation proudly supports the educational professionals in Forney ISD who daily lead their students toward their futures.
