1) No family should be without a potato sticks or “French fries” cutter– makes 25 at the same time with the right potato inserted. (also builds muscles!)
2) Everybody should own a commemorative Dr. Pepper bottle from the 1973 Texas vs. Oklahoma football game in the Cotton bowl and the State Fair of Texas. I grew up “Hooking Horns,” but most of my relatives are/were “Sooners.”
3) All good cornbread makers need an 8 inches by 4 inches WAGNER’S 1891 100-Yrs.-Anniversary Limited Edition cast iron corn bread baking pan. Perfect for those “little bakers,” who want to be like “Grandma.”
4) “Budding” baseball “stars” all wanted a SPALDING– full leather lining– Richie Allen model–100% nylon-stitched–youth baseball glove–fitted for the right hand! (spans 9 inches from bottom to top leather lacings) These old models seem/seemed to last for generations!
5) Last-but-not-least: For those hot summer days of freezing ice cream in a hand-cranked freezer or carrying out 25–50 pounds chunks of ice to the meat storage unit, ice tongs are/were necessities. (allmetal with joints that work perfectly to “grab” securely!) (good for Hallowe’en scares, too!)
