This week we congratulate David Tibbals as the second of 4 photographers from Forney winning awards at the State Fair of Texas Creative Arts Photography Competition. David moved to Forney in 2017 making him newest resident to win the award.
David is an avid photographer. In 2019 he turned his interest in wildlife and hunting toward photography when he started looking for something that would also fit with his weekly travel schedule.
David, already an award winning wildlife photographer, added three new awards from the State Fair. He received an Honorable Mention for the inflight Peregrine Falcons in the Animals, Birds and Reptiles Other than Texas Category. The photo was taken off the California Orange County Coast. His images of the Barred Owls, taken at the Colleyville Nature Center, garnered a 3rd place ribbon in the Color Birds Category. Finally, he was awarded a First Place in the Flora (Close-up) Category. This was a photo of valentine flowers shot on his kitchen counter.
